A new post has been created for a Specialist English teacher. The successful candidate will be required to teach English in Years 6 to 8. The post would suit someone with experience of teaching English in Key Stages 2 & 3. Working to support the English Coordinator, the newly appointed English teacher would be instrumental in helping to further enhance standards and promote interest in the subject. The ideal candidate must have a genuine passion for teaching English Language and Literature. A willingness to assist in the development of teaching Shakespeare and spoken English is also important. Likewise, a good knowledge of intervention strategies for writing and reading, and the ability to stretch our most able pupils would also be most welcome. The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic, creative in their approach and positive in their attitude.
Candidates must have British qualifications. They are expected to hold a Bachelor's degree and a recognised teaching qualification. Prior experience in an international school setting is not essential.
