Required Director Public / Media Relations - Wataniya Telecom

Plan and deliver effective Public Relations and communications programs that establish and enhance the Company’s desired corporate image and that lead to sustainable and effective communication with its shareholders, customers, employees, counter parties, the community and media.

Qualifications:
    Required years of experience based on progression ladder in public relations and/or media in Kuwait.
    3+ years management experience
    Strong knowledge and experience with the media sector in Kuwait with good relationships with key individuals in this sector.
    Strong leadership and coaching experience.
    Strong networking skills and presentation attributes.
    Good journalist ability.
    Ability to operate in a diverse multicultural, multinational work environment, exhibiting appropriate sensitivities.
    Fluent verbal and written communication in both Arabic and English.

Key Responsibilities::
    Develop, gain agreement to, and implement public relations and information policies, plans and programs which promote and clarify understanding of the Company’s objectives, capabilities, accomplishments and image with government, private sector bodies and the general public.
    Manage the public relations aspects of Sales campaigns, new product launches and events and oversee the communication between PR and Marketing / Sales colleagues and key spokespeople.
    Direct and co-ordinate the delivery of public relations activities through a program of personal contacts, visits, media releases, publication distribution, editorials and relevant lobbying.
    Direct and supervise the publication and distribution of the Company’s annual report, when needed, newsletters and any other publications ensuring adherence to agreed image-promoting corporate standards.
    Supervise the editing, translation and printing of all Company publications to ensure quality standards are met and consistency with the desired corporate image.
    Direct the founding and continual development of the Company Information Bank to provide ready access to relevant information on government and private sector bodies, the mass media and industry and current affairs publications.
    Develop and ongoing review of the Wataniya Telecom Crisis Plan and manage the public relations aspects of any potential crisis situation.
    Oversee the Staff Discounts Program and ensure that internal communication of any special offers or discounts organised for and applicable to staff members from outside providers are announced accordingly.
    Responsible for government relations and the organising of gifts for officials during special occasions and courtesy visits, as a representative of the Chief Executive Officer.
    Selection and management of the relationship with external public relations agencies to be used when needed.
    Foster positive personal relationship with key members of the local press from both English and Arabic major media organisations to ensure favourable and ongoing press coverage for the Company when needed.
    Handle all local, regional and international media enquiries and requests for information to ensure consistency, co-ordination, accuracy and integrity of responses.
    Research, write and distribute key Company press releases to targeted media, when needed.
    Oversee the Assistant Managers as they handle the successful planning and outcome of corporate conferences, seminars and events that the Company participates in.
    Partnership with Marketing and Sales to oversee all internal communication, branding, invitations of customers and prospects, venue logistics and media attendance at all Company events.
    Undertake all activities associated with international and VIP guests visiting either the Company or the chairman, from reception to departure including arrangement of daily program.
    Review proposal and proactively searches for suitable events for sponsorship within Kuwait that will promote and enhance the Company name and its image as a caring and responsible community member.
    Oversee the planning, supervision and participation in these events to ensure sponsorship objectives are achieved.
    Organise the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and oversee the logistics and planning. This includes press releases and press packs, branding, equipment, invitations, photography, speech and the agenda.
    Co-ordinate with other departments on activities for the planning and managing of participation in conferences, seminars, exhibitions at which the Company’s image must be presented and enhanced.
    Plans, supervises and participates in social activities and special events for staff to express management appreciation of efforts, promote the team spirit, and a sense of commitment.
