IT Technical Support - American University of Kuwait

Skill and Knowledge
    Ability to speak and write clearly and accurately.
    Demonstrated proficiency in typing and grammar.
    Knowledge of relevant software computer applications and equipment.
    Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
    Willingness to co-operate with others and work to the greater good.

Education and/or Experience
    Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent education.
    CCNA/MCSA is a plus.
    Minimum two years experience in the same field.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures in English. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English.

Responsibilities:    
    Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems, printers, scanners and applications.
    Troubleshooting basic network problems.
    Supporting the roll-out of new applications.
    Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues.
    Testing and evaluating new technology.
    Diagnosing and solving technical hardware/software issues.
    Deliver service and support to end-users using BMC help desk software, E-mail and Phone.
    Organize ideas and communicate oral messages appropriate to listeners and situations.
    Stay up-to-date with system information, changes and updates.
    Maintain records of software licenses.
    Managing stocks of equipment, consumables and other supplies.
    Provide training to clients in the use of system and applications as related to Internet.
    Proficient in Internet related applications such as E-Mail clients, FTP clients and Web Browsers.
    Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
