The Opportunity
Based in Kuwait, the Vice President Home Furnishings will be given the mandate to manage the performance taking full ownership of the overall strategy of the Home Furnishings division across all its brands and operating regions. He/she will define the business plan for the division across Alshaya’s licensed territories including new brands where appropriate and will spearhead the delivery of the business plan and deliver results in terms of network expansion and profit.
The Role
– To lead, initiate and spearhead the implementation of the Annual Business Planning process of the Home Furnishings Division in order to deliver results in terms of chain expansion & profit across all brands and regions.
– To set KPIs for the division’s top management with input from Alshaya’s corporate and regional teams.
– To lead strategy discussions and to manage quarterly & annual strategy performance reviews.
– To ensure consistency of brand execution across the division including product & service delivery, brands standards, ensuring with the management that all stores, staff and processes comply with high-end international standards.
– To be fully accountable for the P&L for all brands in the division across all regions.
– To identify business development opportunities to expand the division in existing and new markets, leveraging experience from rest of the business.
– To manage best practice and hold regular meetings and planning sessions with the leadership team.
– To manage relationships with host brands & to ensure adherence to agreements through regular meetings,monitoring and planning sessions with top management.
– To develop and maintain excellent internal and external relationships.
– To lead the team including recruitment, development, succession planning.
The Requirements
– 20-25 years of experience at C/Executive level, gained leading a substantial marketing or brand function within a large international retail chain – preferably of similar retail segments (i.e., home furnishings)
– Broad cross distribution channels experience in international B2C or B2B brand / multi-country retail management.
– Strong product experience and handling businesses with complex supply chain process.
– Solid multi-support functions experience combined with a hands-on operational track record and strong strategic skills.
– Extensive experience in building & managing cross-cultural teams.
– Experience in managing and maintaining direct host and/or franchise relationships.

– An Executive with line management experience at a top retail company.
– An influential, inspirational proactive and trusted leader.
– Energetic, dynamic and comfortable managing complexity.
– A confident communicator with very strong command of English a must (verbal and written).
