JOB SUMMARY
The Ultrasonographer works in Imaging Services and uses sonograms that emit ultrasound high frequency waves, directed towards internal organs / structures, to detect abnormalities and to aide physicians diagnose patients and offer proper treatment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Duties
Maintains established department policies, objectives, procedures, quality assurance and safety standards.
Explains the procedure involved to the patient and ensures that they are comfortable and at ease during the procedure; reduces anxieties and answers questions.
Performs the ultrasound ensuring the transducer (probe) is capturing images of every angle/section that must be assessed.
Selects transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to organ to be examined, depth of field, and other specifications of test.
Evaluates sonograms to make sure that the images produced by the sonogram are sufficient for patient diagnosis.
Maintains equipment, supplies and accessories; checks stock to determine inventory level, anticipates needed supplies, places & expedites orders for supplies and verifies receipt of supplies.
Performs preventive maintenance on a regular scheduled basis and reports major malfunctions to the facility department. Follow ups for repair requests as needed.
Maintains patient records and prepares written documentation as required such as evaluation results, progress reports and other such reports when requested by the physician.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
Attend meetings as required.
Performs other related assignments as requested by the Clinical Director – IVF & RMSC
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education : Associate’s degree and/or accredited program in Ultrasound Technology. Licensing: Valid License from Ministry of Health-Kuwait to practice as Ultra sonographer
Experience : 3 years’ experience as an Ultra sonographer. Good experience in performing trans vaginal ultrasound scan
