Senior Petroleum Engineer, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation

Major Duties
  1. s) Complete engineering studies and economic evaluations in exploration, development and production permits in operated and non-operated assets to estimate the true value of KUFPEC assets.
  2. t) Evaluate as part of an integrated team acquisition opportunities and help estimate the value of the same
  3. u) Monitor and analyse exploration, development, testing, and production operations and advise management on engineering matters related to operated and non-operated assets to assist in decision making.
  4. v) Analyse field performance and work closely with other disciplines and operator personnel to make recommendations for the most cost effective option regarding well locations, field development plan, completions and work overs
  5. w) Perform periodic technical audits in conjunction with reservoir/petroleum engineers for KUFPEC’s assets to optimize hydrocarbon recovery
  6. x) Manage projects for specified assets (technical and financial) in the capacity of Project Coordinator; Monitor and analyse operator’s technical activities, budgets, AFEs, expenditures, production forecasts and proposals
  7. y) Monitor review and ensure effective and efficient performance of various Operator-related activities by Area Office based Petroleum Engineering team in the future.
Operational Duties
  1. z) Supervise annual five year planning, budgeting and reserves assessment and reporting to maximize reserves, production, return an investment, and reduce risk exposure associated with assigned project(s)
  2. aa) Supervise preparation of Petroleum Engineering and HSE sections of periodic production performance reports for management
  3. bb) Evaluate completion design and strategy along with Team Leaders and provide recommendations
  4. cc) Interrogate operator on development, exploitation and maintenance actions relating to wells, facilities as per the Work Program; seek and review performance reports from operators in order to evaluate their performance and make sure that the latest technologies are used while performing technical, economic and financial tasks
  5. dd) Interact with field operations to optimize individual well performance taking into account individual well production limits and process capacity constraints to identify bottle necks and required remedial actions and comments
  6. ee) Represent KUFPEC at Technical and Operating Committee Meetings, workshops and farm out presentations in order to influence JV/business development decision making in favour of KUFPEC’s interests and ensure that KUFPEC’s interests are satisfied
  7. ff) Participate in Corporate Peer Reviews to support the quality and consistency of technical work
  8. gg) Evaluate ongoing operations programs (WO, Stimulation, Routine maintenance Etc.) propose to the Operator, and assure that the Operator  responds to KUFPEC’s assessments
  9. hh) Develop ongoing operation programs (WO, Stimulation, Routine maintenance Etc.) propose to the JV Partners, and assure that the JV Partners respond to KUFPEC’s assessments
  10. ii) Supervise, review and integrate results of Nodal Analysis (NA) and other well optimization studies with outputs from other disciplines to optimize well production, well deliverability, ultimate recovery and overall costs
  11. jj) Supervise, review and integrate outcomes from well surveillance and short and long term well outflow performance to optimize future well intervention and overall field costs
  12. kk) Prepare presentations, reports and technical materials needed for RBA (Request for board approval), whenever a case needs to be presented to Senior Management, present and defend as required.
  13. ll) Support Team Leaders in finalization of Division’s annual budget and five year plan
People Management Duties
  1. mm) Provide on the job training and assistance and help develop capabilities of subordinates to enable them to perform their job effectively and efficiently.
  2. nn) Provide ongoing feedback in an objective and effective manner and appraise performance of any subordinates reporting to the position.
Miscellaneous Duties
  1. oo) Operate within established HSSE, ERM, ISO, insurance and audit policies and procedures and manage job-related risks within established risk thresholds; Obtain management authorizations for risks beyond individual tolerance thresholds.
  2. pp) Comply to end user policies, procedures and guidelines for all quality standards currently in force and facilitate and provide necessary support in any audits conducted in own department as per audit role assigned
  3. qq) Assume full responsibility for performing HSE related duties and roles as envisaged by HSE policies and standards.
Academic Background: Bachelor degree in Engineering.
Related Work Experience (Type and years): Minimum 8 years experience in a varied petroleum engineering role at an operating E&P organization including supervisory experience of managing one or more petroleum engineers and engineer trainees.
