Manager Strategy – Ooredoo Group

This position will provide analytical and architectural skills to help the strategy team in Strategy Development and formulation to improve the company’s performance .The position entails undertaking project management, analysis, coordination and influencing roles in the strategy team, and is responsible for defining strategies and associated initiatives that drive growth for the company. This position will be a critical part of our Strategy team dedicated to work closely with our leader and management teams in portfolio strategy, financial planning, future trends, new growth opportunities, and competitor analysis. The position is highly visible and requires frequent interaction with all staff levels, including the senior executive team. This position provides a complete range of information support to business managers, including decision support indicators based on targets, actual, assessment etc. to facilitate decision making. Key Activities:
Support the development and monitoring of the company’s growth strategy and operational excellence based on analysis of industry trends, competitive threats, expansion opportunities and internal performance.
Support the definition of specific, measurable strategic goals for the company.
Support the design of business scaling & revenue growth strategy for Telecom.
Identify emerging areas of interest to Telecom.
Work with senior managers to help set the overall strategic direction of the company, and to drive key initiatives including growth strategy and operational excellence.
Conduct Trend analysis and new growth opportunity / competitor analysis.
Support with business integration & design strategy for revenue increase.
Provide information / trend analysis on emerging global markets.
Analyse sales trends and interpret them.
Targets set for the business are analysed & achieved.
Assist in the efficient designing of strategic initiatives
Develop strategic recommendations related to new operational efficiency levers
Liaise with Ooredoo Group to ensure Strategic Alignment of Goals and Group KPIs.
Work closely with the management team in the support of developing the business strategy and its sets of strategic initiatives.
Support the 3-Year Business Planning and Development and cascading business strategy into the operational plans.
Provide reports and presentations for reviews.
Support the Strategy Director in developing Ooredoo Board Presentation & Messages
Collate and coordinate Ooredoo Group Quarterly Report with Functional Heads and Functional Leads
Support the Strategy Director in developing key messages to ensure alignment
Facilitate the Quarterly deck with Management and submit to Ooredoo Group.
Work closely with the management team in the support of developing the business strategy and its sets of strategic initiatives.
Support the Business Planning and Development and cascading business strategy into the operational plans.
Make recommendations to management team on specific opportunities (external as well as internal).
Define and manage process to track progress to plan.
Provide reports and presentations for reviews.
Deliver analytically rigorous and data-driven insights that assist the company executives in making strategic decisions and drive business prioritisation.
Deliver data-based insights to support actionable strategic direction, corporate prioritisation, and strategy communication.
Create and manage reporting systems.
Deliver periodic reports on key performance metrics for business parameters.
Design, structure and monitor schemes proposed by businesses aimed at revenue enhancement. Review the revenue budgeting and projections on a monthly basis.
Set up measures and monitoring mechanisms to regulate and control the Costs initiatives.
Performance & variance analysis (e.g. budgets and trends).
Analyse market share in value and volume.
Analyse competitor activities and their performances.
Prepare presentations with input to assist the management team in decision making.
Analyse and efficiency assessment of sales and marketing activity.
Proactively take responsibility for self-improvement by staying well-informed of developments, knowledge and innovations in relevant field of expertise.
Other duties as directed by supervisor or other superiors
Qualifications:
Experience in business strategy, marketing, business development , product management, new business & operations with leading Telecom & technology ventures
Proven facilitator and communicator that has the ability to lead groups at all levels through complex problems with confidence and clarity
Possess financial acumen with the ability to link and correlated between business strategy/initiatives, operational plans and financial performance
Good execution skills
Strong analytical skills and financial modelling capabilities
Good interpersonal & communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
Ability to communicate with various levels of management
Attention to detail
Ambitious and result driven. Ability to cope with deadlines
Work prioritisation and time management skills
Ability to drill-down and perform root-cause analysis
Team Player
Ability to operate in a diverse multicultural, multinational work environment, exhibiting appropriate sensitivities
Excellent command of both written and verbal English, Arabic would be an advantage.
Bachelor degree in business or a related discipline and appropriate registration with a recognised professional institute
Preferably an MBA degree (Marketing or Finance).
Strong Project Management and Strategy skills
Proficiency in MS Excel, Access & Power Point and understanding of Database Concepts
