Responsible for developing and managing the web design strategy for multiple brands in multiple markets from wire frame through to market launch and ongoing site development. The person will work closely with the eCommerce management, internal brand teams and host brands to deliver best in class web site design and development plans embracing local market requirements and brand guidelines. The Design & Development Manager will also provide leadership to a team of brand web design managers and assumes responsibility for hands-on creative work.
Experience:
7-9 years in eCommerce web designing, creativity and development. Ideally in Retail sector.
Multiple multi-channel retail experience.
Exposure to eCommerce at an operational level, from concept / initiative to delivery and implementation.
Multiple brand experience in different countries.
Has lead a team of at least 4-5 people.
Expert in user centered UI/Usability design.
Must understand how development and design integrate using HTML5, CSS3, PHP, and other web languages.
Proficient in Quark, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Magento platform experience a benefit.

Communicates brand standards to web designers as required, approves logo usage and graphic standards on all produced materials.
Liaise with other creative functions to ensure consistent brand identity, graphics standards and messaging for all produced designs.
Commissioning editorial and design work based on the content requirements of host brand and internal business teams across Alshaya.
Works with Alshaya merchandising and marketing team to prioritise and assign projects to web designers.
Negotiates terms and deadlines with internal clients.
Managing periodic website content health check audit and review.
Communicates company values, objectives, initiatives and results regularly.
Ensures the execution of ongoing status updates, performance management and formal reviews as per departmental standards and Viewpoint impact plans.
Provides training and development for all team members.
