Responsibilities of Position:
• Storage Area Operations Supervisor for Ammunition Supply Point Operation in Kuwait.
• Supervises, directs and controls ammunition storage operations services within designated locations supporting the Project.
• Oversees the performance of a broad array of supply chain and storage assignments, related to the receipt, storage, inventory and disposition of ammunition materials. Includes inventory management, warehousing, material control, property management, technical documentation and other duties associated with the ammunition life cycle.
• Leads quality efforts/processes to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Provides training/guidance to subordinate personnel.
• Recommends personnel actions.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
Position Scope:
• Works within broad project policies and objectives.
• Plans, assigns, and evaluates the work of subordinates.
• Operates with substantial latitude provided that actions are consistent with corporate objectives.
• Work is multi-faceted and complex requiring coordination and integration.
• Participates in the determination and direction of policy changes in meeting the needs of the customer.
Key Success Factors:
• Demonstrated leadership in DoD logistics projects.
• Ammunition storage experience.
• Understands and has technical competency managing Army ammunition receipt, storage, issue, maintenance and retrograde operations.
• Demonstrated success in high OPTEMPO/real-world contingency operations.
Qualifications
Experience and Education:
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in munitions supply point procedures with demonstrated knowledge of storage / quantity distance procedures as prescribed by DA Pam 385-64 Ammunition and Explosives Safety Standards.
• AA degree preferred in technical discipline. BA/BS a Plus.
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certification a Plus.
Attributes/Skills Required/Sought:
• Comprehensive knowledge of a diverse variety of ammunition inventory and storage services is needed to complete complex assignments.
• Knowledge of DOD, FAR, and HTSI policies regarding inventory management, procurement regulations and inventory processes associated with life cycle support may be essential in meeting specific customer contract requirements at various HTSI locations.
• Skill in military and/or industrial inventory and material management techniques which include packing, handling, storage and preservation of ammunition items.
• Experience may be necessary in the handling of hazardous materials for both local and international shipments.
• Must have a working knowledge of automated data processing and use of Standard Army Ammunition System – Modified (SAAS-MOD).
• Must obtain and maintain a current operator’s license for warehouse forklifts and other ASP/TSA equipment necessary for the operation.
• Must have skill sets to enforce all class V regulatory requirements as described in but not limited to DA Pam 385-64 Ammunition and Explosives Safety Standards and DA Pam 385- 10 Army Safety Program.
• Must be fluent in speaking and writing the English language.
• Must be able obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
