Al Tayer Group is delighted to announce plans to open the first Bloomingdale’s store in Kuwait, which is part of a strategic partnership with Macy’s, Inc.
Bloomingdale’s Kuwait will fulfill the New York City store’s promise of “like no other store in the world” with offerings such as leading luxury brand experiences, and seamless digital and social media integration. This will enhance the in-store experience, deliver extraordinary personalised services with curated product selection to create an authentic welcome and delight experience for our customers.
Opening in February 2017, the three-level apparel, beauty and accessories store, spanning over 93,000 square feet will anchor the 360 Mall, Kuwait’s luxury retail destination.
Interviewing for our exciting Bloomingdale’s Kuwait career opportunities will take place between March and August 2016. Bloomingdales Kuwait Beauty Department will offer many of the world’s favorite and most prestigious brands across make up, skincare, hair care and perfumery. The Team of Beauty Specialists can tailor beauty needs with unique one-on-one consultations across the large variety of brands like Guerlain, La Prairie, Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, Kiehls and many Niche Fragrances brands such as The Fragrance Kitchen, Penhaligon’s and Diptyque.
We are looking for a passionate and committed Department Manager to lead the department team in Bloomingdales Kuwait to achieve goals and objectives.
As a Department Manager, you will need to identify commercial opportunities by analyzing sales and stock reports to maximize your understanding of the current performance trends. You will manage and support store and brand events ensuring they are planned and executed within budgets and to the highest standard.
Reporting into the Retail Manager, you will manage a dynamic team of Beauty Consultants and Specialists whom you will develop in order to achieve a high level of customer service whilst maintaining brand image and operational compliance.
Person
We are looking for a confident individual with a proven background in beauty retail. You will have ideally managed a large team across multiple brands.
You should be passionate and enthusiastic in leading the team towards a common goal. A keen interest in Beauty is necessary and a commercial awareness with the current trends in the market.
You will need to have excellent communication skills, and the ability ot lead by example providing exceptional customer service.
Experience
The successful candidate should have spent the last 3 – 5 years in a large retail organisation and will have come from a Retail Sales Management/Supervisory background. We are looking for someone that can show a background in driving sales and commercial opportunities, you should have evidence of how you have met and exceeded targets.
Customer service is a focus of our business and consequently, you should be able to evidence how you have implemented customer service standards across stores and manage customer satisfaction levels.
As a leader, you should be able to demonstrate your experience of successfully leading and developing a team, including motivating and managing poor performance.

Graduate in any discipline
