Job Purpose:
To manage operational processes relating to the Bank’s statutory responsibilities as an appointed Debt manager within the Government Debt Fund scheme
Accountabilities:
Process
Possess a full understanding of GDF legislation and the Bank’s responsibilities
Prepare applications and supporting information for GDF Committees
Preparation and referral of contracts to Government ministries
Disbursal of Government settlement monies in accordance with contracts and calculation of payment refunds due
Collection of payments for both Government and other creditors in accordance with contracts
Service Quality
Contact all customers and explain the decision made on their application
Assist customers who visit the department in a timely and professional manner
Maintain professional relationships with ministries, committees and other Bank departments
Systems
Ensure Bank systems and Ci-Net accurately reflect the status of GDF applications and related accounts
Timely management and transfer of GDF monies in GB suspense accounts
Reporting
Update reporting suite daily on application and contract status of cases
Update Government loan file with liabilities and payment status
Provide information to Committees on cases referred and processed
Daily reconciliation of suspense accounts
Generic Accountabilities:
Corporate governance & compliance
Work fully within:
– risk policies and procedures
– all compliance, Central Bank regulations and Laws 28 & 51
Education/Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
Education / Qualifications: Diploma in commerce/accounting/finance
Knowledge: Knowledge of Collection operations, Government Debt Fund laws
Experience: minimum 1 year in similar role
Generic & Specific Skills:
Good Communication
Analytical Thinking
Bilingual in Arabic & English
Proficient in IT (MS Office & Banking software)
